Ali Reza Iftekhar wins top honour for EBL’s strong performance in 2021-22

Eastern Bank Limited (EBL), the  Bangladesh-based private commercial bank, has revealed a promising performance in 2021-2022, for which, its CEO, Mr Ali Reza Iftekhar won the ‘Best Banking CEO of the Year, Bangladesh 2022’ from World Business Outlook. An avid promoter of sustainable development of Bangladesh’s economy, Ali Reza Iftekhar has been in the banking sector for the past 32 years. 

Ali Reza Iftekhar, having been part of several foreign and private banks, joined EBL in 2004 as deputy managing director and was promoted as additional managing director in 2006. He was appointed the Managing Director and the CEO in 2007 and has retained that position ever since. Previously, Ali Reza Iftekhar held essential positions in Banque Indosuez, Standard Chartered Bank and AB Bank. He even served as the Association of Bankers Bangladesh for 2014-15.
