1stWEST Mergers and Acquisitions, a leading investment bank and M&A advisory in the building material sector, announced it has named Dan Swift to serve as a new Managing Director.
Before joining 1stWEST M&A, Mr. Swift has been a widely admired business executive, with unrivaled experience in the building materials, hardware, and security sectors. Mr. Swift’s career has spanned three+ decades marked by significant achievements and successful ventures, including Mr. Swift’s 25-year ownership of Strauss Security Solutions and Strauss Lock Distributors, the leading national distributor of Schlage residential door hardware.
In 2017, Mr. Swift sold one of his companies, Strauss Lock Distributors, to High Road Capital Partners, a private equity firm. He became a shareholder in the new entity, branded as Banner Solutions, a private-equity-backed firm. While at Banner, Mr. Swift’s strategic vision and leadership was central in Banner Solutions’ successful efforts to acquire additional companies. Banner Solutions was successfully sold to Tailwind Capital in 2019. During Mr. Swift’s tenure, he served as President of the Residential Division, Chief Sales Officer, and Chief Business Development Officer, helping Banner Solutions quickly scale to over $260 million in annual revenues.
As a Managing Director at 1stWEST M&A, Mr. Swift will continue to leverage his vast industry experience and strategic acumen, assisting clients in achieving their business and valuation objectives, while helping them navigate complex transactions.
