Celigo, a leading integration platform as a service (iPaaS) that serves both IT and business users, yesterday announced the appointment of James Whitemore as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In his new role, Whitemore will be responsible for driving Celigo’s global marketing strategy and execution as the company looks to strengthen its position as the leading voice in a rapidly growing market.

“We are thrilled that James is joining Celigo. James is more than a marketing leader; he’s a true business leader who understands our automation-first vision,” said Jan Arendtsz, founder and CEO of Celigo. “His wealth of experience as a Fortune 500 executive and in high-growth early stage companies completes our leadership team and is the key piece to align all business functions towards our next era of innovation and growth.”

A veteran tech executive with more than 30 years of experience across the cloud, networking, and data storage industries, Whitemore will usher in a dynamic era of profitable revenue growth and market disruption for Celigo. He most recently served as CMO and EVP at data storage giant NetApp, where he launched an award-winning integrated digital marketing strategy that resulted in rapid growth of their Public Cloud business.

Previously, Whitemore held the title of CMO at SolidFire, an award-winning all-flash storage startup, where he established the company as a market leader and helped lead to its eventual acquisition by NetApp in 2016. In addition to serving in executive leadership positions at IBM Europe, Intrado, and SAVVIS Communications, Whitemore spent nearly a decade leading the marketing functions at Sun Microsystems Storage Products Group.

“It is an honor to join Celigo during this exciting time,” said Whitemore. “Celigo has built an impressive platform with a loyal customer base that is unmatched in this industry. As companies see their application environment continue to grow in complexity, the need for the right automation and integration solutions will only increase. I am eager to spearhead Celigo’s marketing efforts as we advance our technology in the market.”

iPaaS has moved to early mainstream adoption globally as enterprise users rely on it to integrate applications and data as well as ecosystems, APIs and business processes. Organizations are also gravitating to iPaaS to replace legacy integration platforms that are too costly and complex for modern integration delivery initiatives. Furthermore, the proliferation of hybrid cloud models across the enterprise will further accelerate adoption and revenue growth in the iPaaS market sector, which Insight Partners expects to reach $8.4B worldwide by 2025.

As the leading integration-driven automation company, Celigo provides an enterprise-class platform for integration and business process automation at cloud scale. Celigo can automate business processes up to 100% and ensure best practices and compliance with pre-built automations. This empowers line-of-business users to confidently create and manage automations to fit their changing business processes while allowing IT users to capitalize on the robust administration capabilities including monitoring, activity logging, and connector policy management.
