KBZ Bank CEO Zaw Lin Aung Discusses the Bank’s Focus on Service Leadership

KBZ Bank, Myanmar’s largest privately-owned bank, is on a transformation journey spearheaded by Zaw Lin Aung, who was appointed as its new CEO in April 2022.

An experienced banker who has served various leadership roles at KBZ Bank since 2015, Zaw Lin Aung is a true visionary who has pioneered new ways of financial inclusion in the country, including as a founding member of the mobile wallet platform KBZPay, which has facilitated 1.42 billion transactions since it was launched in October 2018.

On top of his contributions toward the development of Myanmar’s banking sector for over a decade, he is also serving as Chairman of the Myanmar Credit Bureau.

KBZ Bank, with 40 percent market share and the largest branch network in Myanmar with more than 500 branches, is working towards continuous service improvement to drive its twin mission of bringing 100% financial inclusion in the country, and becoming Southeast Asia’s leading bank in customer service.
