SQN Banking Systems reported that long-term President Joe Uhland has announced his retirement effective June 30, 2023.

Chief Technology Officer Stan Jaslar will replace Uhland as SQN president and CEO.

Uhland has led SQN Banking Systems since 1996, and he’s given 38 years of service to the company and its valued customers. Under Uhland’s guidance, SQN experienced tremendous growth and became an industry leader in the signature verification and fraud detection markets.

His accomplishments include developing state-of-the-art check fraud detection systems and facilitating hundreds of successful installations in the financial industry, including in six of the top 10 banks in the United States.

Reflecting on his colleague’s departure, Jaslar writes, “Joe’s vision and drive, combined with his commitment to serving the best long-term interests of the company, have strengthened SQN. He leaves a more agile and resilient company, well-placed to win in this fast-changing, dynamic industry. I’d like to thank him personally, and on behalf of the Board, for his contribution and dedication to SQN.”

Jaslar will replace Uhland as president of SQN effective immediately. During his 33-year career, Jaslar has held various positions at SQN. In addition to his most recent role as chief technology officer, Jaslar has also led SQN’s Product Development and Technical Services teams.

As he prepares to hand over leadership to Jaslar, Uhland states, “I’m most proud of the development and support teams that we have built over the years, and our ability to adapt and excel in the face of rapidly changing environments. Our folks and their talents and dedication are what make SQN unique in the industry, and Stan is largely responsible for creating and leading this group to the success we enjoy today. SQN will be in great hands with Stan.”

Uhland is a native of the Cherry Hill, NJ area and a graduate of LaSalle University with some additional work at Rowan University. He and his wife Paula are active in many civic and cultural organizations in the community and plan to continue those endeavours.
