Energy Vault Holdings a leader in sustainable grid-scale energy storage solutions, announced the appointment of Stephanie Unwin to its Board of Directors (BOD). She will be officially appointed at the next Energy Vault Board of Directors meeting, which is held once a quarter, in March 2024.

Unwin succeeds Zia Huque, General Partner of Prime Movers Lab, who led Energy Vault’s Series C investment round. Mr. Huque will retire on the same day that Mr. Unwin takes over as director.

Ms. Unwin is the CEO of Horizon Power, an Australian integrated power company. Since becoming CEO in 2019, she has led the company through a rapidly changing energy landscape, driving decarbonization projects across Western Australia and positioning the company for long-term growth.

Before Horizon Power, she held several executive positions at Synergy, Western Australia’s largest energy generation and industrial and consumer power retail business, including general manager of retail and commercial divisions and chief transformation officer (CTO).

Industry sources added that Ms. Unwin also brings to Energy Vault’s Board of Directors her extensive experience on the boards of public companies including Alasar Gold, Zenith Energy, Integra Mining, and several privately held joint ventures. She currently serves on the board of Energy Networks Australia. Throughout his career, Mr Unwin has been named one of Western Australia’s most influential business leaders in the Business News’ Power 500. Recognized as a dynamic leader in the renewable energy sector.
